Mississippi Voters Reject 'Personhood' Measure
I remember marching on the campus green
Armed with a bent wire hanger, chanting “never again”,
Feeling as if my adult life began with protest
Friends confessed the procedure
Tears streaming down youthful faces,
Not ready to be mothers
Yet I’ve seen when life truly begins
Tiny cluster of cells singing under the microscope
I’ve wept for their death,
Prayed for their growth,
Envisioned their endless multiplication
