Unraveled

The strange and curious history of lobotomy

Men in stark white lab coats
Severed connections from the frontal lobe
Arms deep in neural swamp
Casting about for cures

Thousands of people
With unstitched minds,
Faulty connections unwoven like an unraveling shawl

Legions of mindless,
Soon to be apathetic, catatonic,
Among their last words, “Thank you doctor”.
